Maui Taylor is Maureen Anne Rodriguez Tupaz in real life. She was born on June 28, 1983 in Brighton, East Sussex, England. Her father is an Englishman Ricardo Taylor who is a landscape artist in profession. Maui lived in England until her and was then sent to the Philippines.
It was that fate that turned this young beauty into the hottest bold star in the Philippines. It all started when Maui Taylor was introduced into a dance group where her cousin was a member. Maui's mestiza beauty captured most eyes in the local showbiz and she became one of the hottest properties at that time.
At the tender age of 14, she was casted in the prime time soap opera "Anna Karenina" and the teen oriented show "TGIS". Through these shows, Maui slowly built her sweet image for the Filipino audience.
Many were surprised when suddenly, this sweet young lady made a decision to appear in a bold movie "Tatarin" opposite Rica Peralejo and Edu Manzano. Although it was only a supporting role, Maui shocked the showbiz world in that bold career move.
Then she appeared in the sexy comedy film S2pid Luv which gained positive reviews from citics. It was in the same year that Maui finally exposed herself when she appeared in the cover of FHM Philippines. It is a record that Maui appeared in teh said men's magazine four times and she has been in the top ten for three consecutive years.
Her appearance in FHM magazine opened the world of opportunities for Maui in bold movies. The magazine was in itself in one of it's best selling issues when she first appeared in the cover. Many were intrigued that this young beauty they saw in TV as sweet innocent one is already showing a lot of her skin. She also appeared in the FHM calendar with Diana Zubiri and Aubrey Miles.
That is also the reason why her first starrer role in the movie "Gamitan" grossed more or less 70 million pesos. That was a box office rcord at that time and is a record holder for a bold movie for a long time.
After that very successful movie, Maui was then paired to another hot and young bold star Rica Peralejo in the movie "Hibla". In that movie, Maui and Rica had a kissing scene and that was the first in Philippine movie for two women to kiss on screen. That scene created some noise and the movie however became very successful in the box office.
Her next movie was "Kool Ka Lang" and then in the sex comedy movie "Sex Drive" with Katya Santos. It again stirred the movie world due to the unique plot of the movie. Then it was followd by "Bugbog Sarado" which however, didn't made so much in the box office. It was at that time that many critics were saying that the viewing public was getting tired of her beauty. In short, Maui Taylor was already overexposed at that time.
Maui then found herself making a lot of sexy cd/dvd together with the other Viva Hot Babes whom she was one of the original members of the group. They had a lot of sexy videos and they were selling like hot cakes in the streets. After five years. Maui again tried her luck in movies with the movie "Torotot" but it was however a flop in the box office.
