CBB 2011: Viewing Figures Day 2 - 4

Here are the Celebrity Big Brother viewing figures for Channel 5, and it appears 'so far so good' for the new Big Brother home. 
Day 2 (Fri 19 Aug 2011) - Celebrity Big Brother 3.22m (14.8%) beating all the major channels, apart from BBC 1. Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side 676,000 (6.4%) between 11pm and midnight. Overall Channel 5 claimed third place primetime TV (8.4%)- ahead of both Channel 4 (5.8% includ +1) and BBC 2 (6.9%).

Day 3 (Sat 20 Aug 2011) - While ITV launched the new series of  X Factor with 10.5m viewers, Channel 5 still maintained 2.74m  (12%). Channel 5 beat Channel 4 once again in the primetime audience slot, a rare position that is becoming more the norm during Celebrity Big Brother - it seems C5 had picked a winner at last!


Day 4 (Sun 21 Aug 2011) - Celebrity Big Brother still maintained 2.15m (11.8%) in the 10pm hour, as viewers began to see tensions rise in the house following Kerry Katona's nominations for Bobby and Sally.

Celeb BB 2011: Massive Viewing Figures For Channel 5's Big Brother Launch

Channel 5 were ecstatic about the successful launch of Celebrity Big Brother after viewing figures gave the network one of it's best ever results. The programme aired at 9pm with ultimate Big Brother housemate, Brian Dowling hosting the show.

Celebrity Big Brother was watched by 5.1m viewers (21.9%) and easily beat off the competition, becoming Channel 5's highest audience outside of film/sport programmes. Last year Channel 4 had 5.5m viewers for the Celebrity Big Brother launch (including time shift), so the 5m on Channel 5 is very impressive. As the launch came to a close, 6m viewers tuned in to find out which celebrities had entered the Big Brother house. The new spin-off show Big Brother's Bit On The Side, hosted by Emma Willis, was watched by 1.8m (13.2%) of viewers from 10.30pm.

Big Brother helped give Channel 5 a peak-time share of 9.8% between 6pm and 10.30pm - higher than BBC 2 and Channel 4. The next three weeks are expected to lift C5's audience share, if Celebrity Big Brother can maintain an audience of over 2m on a weekday, then critics will be silenced.

Big Brother Viewing Figures - Channel 4

Here are the average viewing figures for each of the Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother series shown on Channel 4. The new series begins on Channel 5 with the launch of Celebrity Big Brother 2011 on Thursday 18th August 2011, although it is expected viewing figures will be much lower than Channel 4, fans are expected to stick with the reality programme.

UBB: Ultimate Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 78 - 94


Here are the viewing figures for Ultimate Big Brother, including the evictions and several spin off programmes on Channel 4. Ultimate Big Brother delivered a strong result for Channel 4, concluding eleven years of programming.

Day 93 (Thu 9 Sep) - The final highlights programme was only watched by 1.59m (7.1%)  as Channel 4 opted for an 8pm showing. However, an additional 608,000 (2.7%) watched the programme on Channel 4 +1 - making a total of almost 2.2m viewers.

Day 92 (Wed 8 Sep) - 2.6m (11.4%) viewers saw the highlights programme at 9pm hour and 340,000 (1.9%) on Channel 4 +1. Michelle Bass and Vanessa Feltz were evicted with 1.87m viewers (20.2%)tuning in from 11.15pm and 75,000 (1.8%) on timeshift C4+1.

Day 91 (Tue 7 Sep) - Earlier programme at 9pm was watched by 2.17m (9.4%) with a further 483,000 (2.8%) on Channel 4 +1.

Day 90 (Mon 6 Sep) - Come Dine With Me: Big Brother Winners held 2.01million (8%) viewers captive on Channel 4 at 8pm and an impressive 732,000 (2.9%) on Channel 4 +1. Ultimate Big Brother had 2.34m (14%) at 10pm and 142,000 (1.8%) on Channel 4 +1.

Day 89 (Sun 5 Sep) - 2.31m (9.3%) watched on Channel 4 at 9pm and 239,000(1.3%) on timeshift C4+1.

Day 88 (Sat 4 Sep) - 1.77m viewers (8.1%), and 349,000 (1.9%) on 4+1

Day 87 (Fri 3 Sep) - Makosi and Nadia were evicted and Vanessa entered Ultimate Big Brother, as seen by 2.33m viewers (9.9%) at 9pm and 2.23m (15.3%) at 10.30pm. Channel 4 +1 recorded figures of 336,000 and 114,000.

Day 86 (Thu 2 Sep) - 2.38m (14.2%) a further 176,000 (2.1%) watched the programme on Channel 4 +1.

BB11: Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 69 - 77


Big Brother 11 finished on a high as Josie was crowned the winner, showing a year on year increase of almost 1.4m and continued the good viewing figures for the eleventh series of Big Brother.

Day 77 (Tues 24 Aug) FINAL: 3.931 million viewers and a 17.6% audience share over nearly three hours from 8pm. A further 145,000 (0.8%) watched an hour later on Channel 4 +1.

This was well up on last year's Big Brother final, which averaged 2.6 million (12%) and 2.7 million (16%) across two separate instalments on Friday, 4 September.

Day 76 (Mon 23 Aug): 2.57 million viewers and a 14% audience share from 10pm. A further 196,000 (2%) watched an hour later on Channel 4 +1.

Day 75 (Sun 22 Aug): 2.2 million (9.1%), C4+1 - 470,000 (2.5%)

Day 74 (Sat 21 Aug): 1.8 million (8.8%), C4+1 - 216,000 (1.2%)

Day 73 (Fri 20 Aug) QUADRUPLE EVICTION: Big Brother was watched by 2.95m (12.8%), with many returning at 10.30pm as 2.91m (19.2%) tuned in. Another 183,000 and 121,000 tuning in on C4+1

BB11: Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 50 - 68

Year on year Big Brother has managed to maintain higher viewing figures than last year, as the figures below show BB11 has an audience of over 2m each weekday, dipping only at the weekend.

The final series has continued to be a success for Channel 4 and looks like it will end on a high when it concludes with Ultimate Big Brother on Sept 10th.

BB11: Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 42 - 49

Two housemates walked and three new housemates entered the Big Brother house as BB11 viewing figures continued to keep over 2 million fans happy each night on Channel 4. Year on year, the viewing figures have improved almost every night and a fitting end to the long running reality programme.

Day 49 (Tue 27 July) - As John James broke free through the fire exit was seen by 2.4 million (13.7%).

Day 48 (Mon 26 July) - The John James/Josie saga continued to entertain 2.35 million (12.8%) and another 126,000 (1.3%) on C4+1

Day 47 (Sun 25 July) - The three new housemates adjusted to life in the BB11 house with 2.21million viewers (8.6%) and 310,000 (1.6%) on C4+1.

Day 46 (Sat 24 July) - The usual Saturday night dip meant that just 1.68 million (7.9%) viewers tuned in.

Day 45 (Fri 23 July) - No eviction but three new housemates and an interview with walker Caoimhe was watched by 2.3 million (10.9%) (+1 222,000 1.3%) and 2.54m (15.7%), +1: 237,000 2.5%) at 9pm and 10.30pm.

Day 44 (Thu 22 July) - BB High Task attracted 2.4m (13.3%) for Channel 4 between 10pm and 11.10pm. The programme took an additional 184,000 (1.9%) as housemates performed their musical number 'Don't Stop Believing'

Day 43 (Wed 21 July) - Andrew Stone (Pineapple Studios) was busy in the BB11 house trying to lead the housemates for BB High Task and 2.43m (13.7%) tuned in between 10pm and 11.10pm. A further 229,000 (2.5%) watched the show on Channel 4 +1.

Day 42 (Tue 20 July) - Tensions high and Caoimhe walking out had 2.41m (13.6%) viewers between 10pm and 11.10pm, and 246k 000 (2.7%).

BB11: Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 34 - 41

Big Brother 11 viewing figures continue to lead year on year as the latest batch of results show. All the viewing figures below are ahead compared to BB10 (BB10 Viewing Figures) and are pointing too a successful end on Channel 4. The mix of housemates continue to entertain the public each night with a host of  humorous Tasks set by Big Brother.

Day 41 (Mon 19 July) - Big Brother was watched by 2.21m (9.9%) on Channel 4 between 9.30pm and 10.10pm as Josie and Caoimhe fell out over John James, another 255,000 (1.9%) tuned in on C4+1.

Day 40 (Sun 18 July) - The Ben Commandments attracted 2m (8.4%) viewers to Channel 4 between 9pm and 10pm, with a further 341,000 (1.8%) on C4+1.

Day 39 (Sat 17 July) - Ife's final day in the BB11 house was viewed on C4 9pm by 1.6 million (7.9%), C4+1 had 433,000 (2.5%) viewers.

Day 38 (Fri 16 July) - Ife became the fifth person to be evicted and the 9pm show was seen by 2.573 million (12.1%), C4+1 196,000(1.1%). The eviction interview at 10.35pm had a respectable 2.3 million (13.5%), C4+1 168,000 (1.6%). Mario and Corin managed to survive for another week.

Day 37 (Thu 15 July) - Big Brother had 2.14m (12.1%) for Channel 4 between 10pm and 11.10pm. The programme took an additional 236,000 (2.4%) on C4+1.

Day 36 (Wed 14 July) - Big Brother 11 continues it's healthy increase on BB10 with 2.31m (13%) viewers. A further 189,000 (2.1%) tuned in an hour later on C4+1.

Day 35 (Tue 13 July) - Housemates nominated and 2.23m (12.7%) watched the results at 10pm on Channel 4. A further 116k (1.3%) saw the programme on C4+1

Day 34 (Mon 12 July) - On later at 10.30pm, Big Brother still managed 2 million (14.5%) viewers, up 200,000 year on year.

BB11: Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 28 - 33

After a month of broadcasting, Big Brother 11 suffered the usual dip as the latest viewing figures reveal. The final series of Big Brother also had to contend with shifts in the programme schedules and the World Cup.

Day 33 (Sun 11 July) - The world cup final impacted Big Brother, but it still managed to attract 1.5m (10.4%) to Channel 4 between 9.30pm and 10.30pm, with a further 470,000 (3%) watching the programme on C4+1. The argument between John James and Josie was the main focus of the programme.

Day 32 (Sat 10 July) - Big Brother attracted 1.69m (8.4%) for Channel 4 in the 9pm slot as Nathan's final hours in the BB11 house were highlighted.

Day 31 (Fri 9 July) - Nathan became the fourth housemate evicted and 2.46m (11.7%) tuned into the highlights show with another and 2.38m (14.5%) watching his eviction interview with Davina McCall.

Day 30 (Thur 8 July) - Big Brother, shifted to 8pm this week to make way for Channel 4's sex education programming, but lost some of their regular viewers as it went head-to-head with Emmerdale. Just  1.5 (7%) watched the housemates fall out, with another 725,000 (3.3%) watched an hour later on Channel 4 +1.

Ratings for the 11th and final series are up compared to last year's run, according to figures up to Tuesday, 6 July.
The average audience is up 18% year on year at 2.54 million, compared with 2.15 million at the same point in series 10. Average share is also up, from 10.5% to 12.5%.

Day 29 (Wed 7 July) - BB11 was viewed by 1.58m (6.5%) on  Channel 4 in the earlier timeslot of  8pm, with 383,000 (1.6%) watching the show on Channel 4 +1.

Day 28 (Tues 6 July) - Tensions continued to run high in the house as Shabby walked with highlights at 10pm gaining 2.52 million (13.6% audience share), C4 +1 had another 189,000 (1.8%) tuning in.

BB11: Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 21 - 27

Year on year Big Brother 11 seems to be winning the ratings battle as the series attracts over 2 million viewers each night for Channel 4. Here are the latest Big Brother viewing figures from the past week:
Day 21 (Tues 29 June) - Big Brother attracted 2.23 million(12.9% audience share)viewers, with another 190,000 (2%) watching on C4+1 as housemates found out who would face the public vote this week.

Day 22 (Wed 30 June) - BB11 averaged 2.48m (11.4%) for Channel 4 from 9pm, a further 423,000 (2.4%) on C4+1.

Day 23 (Thurs 1 July) - Big Brother brought in 2.17m (12.8%) for Channel 4 from 9pm and 179,000 (2%) on timeshift, as tempers flared once again in the BB house.

Day 24 (Fri 2 July) - Sunshine's eviction from Big Brother grabbed 2.17m (9.6%) at 9pm and 2.3m (13.6%) at 10.30pm, with timeshift figures of 165k (0.8%) and 178k (1.9%). BB10's eviction of Angel on Day 23 was seen by 1.9 million viewers (9% share) at 9pm and 1.6 million and 10% share. So up year on year.

Day 25 (Sat 3 July) - 1.72m (8.3%) tuned in at 9pm, while a further 376,000 (2.2%) watched on C4+1. Up from 1.3m year on year, although a week earlier due to the timing of this year's Big Brother launch date.

Day 26 (Sun 4 July) - Big Brother attracted a healthy 2.52m (10.4%) viewers to Channel 4 in the 9pm hour, with a further 328,000 (1.7%) watching the programme on C4+1. This was the best Sunday night viewing figures for Big Brother in a long time.

Day 27 (Mon 5 July) - Earlier slot of 8pm harmed the Big Brother viewing figures as 1.72m (7.5%) tuned in, although another 503,000 (2.1%) watched an hour later on C4+1.

BB11: Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 15 - 20

Big Brother viewing figures seemed to have stalled around the 2 million mark during the third week. Yet BB11 is up year on year over the same period and remains an healthy addition to the channel 4 line up.

Day 15 (Wed 23 June) - Big Brother - 2.1 million (9.2% audience share) with C4+1 attracting 397,000 (2.2%) viewers.

Day 16 (Thurs 24 June) - Big Brother took 2.04 million (9%) for Channel 4 from 9pm and 432,000 (2.3%) on C4+1, which was the tenth largest multichannel audience of the night.

Day 17 (Fri 25 June) - Govan's Big Brother eviction 2.16m (10.3%) and 2.02m (12.1%) for his post eviction interview with Davina McCall. The viewing figures were almost identical year on year with Cairon's eviction on BB10.

Day 18 (Sat 26 June) - The usual Saturday Big Brother dip resulted in 1.55m (9.1%)  tuning in to Channel 4 at 10pm but was higher than the 1.23m this time last year.

Day 19 (Sun 27 June) - Josie enjoyed her day of treats as Big Brother managed 2.082 million (8.8%) viewers, a further 373,000 tuned in on C4+1 (2.1%).

Day 20 (Mon 28 June) - The housemates penalty shootout against BB Germany attracted 2 million (11.6%) viewers with C4+1 adding 135,000 (1.5%).

BB11: Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 10 - 14

It seems the viewing public are still in love with Big Brother as year on year viewing figures seem to indicate. The latest batch of viewing figures have been pretty positive overall.

Day 10 (Fri 18 June) - The first Big Brother live eviction had almost 3 million viewers on Friday night.Rachael's departure was seen by 2.69m (12.7%), with a further 156,000 (1.2%) watching on C4+1. Meanwhile, the reality show rose 1.1m on the equivalent episode from last year and was more uplifting than the England football match earlier.

Day 11 (Sat 19 June) - Viewing figures dropped for Big Brother, delivering the lowest rating of its final series so far, with just 1.65m (7.9%) tuning in, then Channel 4 +1 adding a modest 355,000 (2%) at 10pm.

Day 12 (Sun 20 June) - Big Brother gained over half a million viewers, the show averaged 2.2m (9.4%) for Channel 4 in the 9pm hour, up 590,000 on the previous night's episode. A further 378,000 (2.1%) watched the programme on C4+1

Day 13 (Mon 21 June) - Arguments began erupting within the house as Big Brother was seen by  2.09 million (11.8% audience share), with another 180,000 (2%) tuning in on C4+1.

Day 14 (Tues 22 June) - Nominations and the Tree of Temptation helped keep viewers entertained on Big Brother with 2.31m (13.2%) watching the programme on Channel 4  at 10pm,  a further 206,000 (2.4%) tuning in on timeshift C4+1.

BB11: Big Brother Viewing Figures - Day 7 - 9

Big Brother 11 is struggling in the viewing figures as it goes head to head against the World Cup. On Tuesday 15th June (Day 7)  2.26 million (13.1% audience share) tuned into the programme, which was slightly up on Day 7 2009 (2.1m).

Wednesday 16 June (Day 8) Big Brother dipped to 2.04 million viewers and an 8.8% share of the audience, yet was still up year on year as 1.89m (10.9%) watched the BB10 Day 8 highlights a year ago. Big Brother was boosted by C4+1 viewing figures which added an extra 547,000 (3.1%) viewers, it was the third most watched show on multi-channel.

Thursday 17 June (Day 9) Big Brother took 2.15m (9.2%) for Channel 4 from 9pm, up 110,000 on last night's episode.
The programme also pulled in a further 631,000 (3.4%) on timeshift C4+1, which was the fourth largest multichannel audience of the night.

BB11:Big Brother Viewing Figures Day 2 - 5

Thurs 10th June (Day 2) - Big Brother had 2.83m (15.8%) viewers for Channel 4 from 10pm, with 254k (2.7%) tuning in on C4+1.

Fri 11th June (Day 3) - The 9pm show was seen by 2.19m (10%) and a further 434,000 (2.4%) on Channel 4+1

Sat 12th June (Day 4) - Saturday night is traditionally the worst night for Big Brother viewing figures and this year BB11 has the World Cup to compete with, but 1.79 million (8.9%) still managed to tune in and watch Mario the Mole and the Tree of Temptation at work. This was only slightly down on the opening Saturday last year (1.9m / 9%)

Sun 13th June (Day 5) -  Over 3 million tuned in to find out if Mario would become a housemate as he completed his 'Impossible Task'. The show averaged 2.69m (10.8%) for Channel 4 in the 9pm hour, with 324,000 (1.8%) watching on the timeshift. channel C4+1. This was a massive boost for Big Brother, year on year it was about 50% higher.

BB11: Big Brother Launch Night Viewing Figures

The final series of Big Brother gave Channel 4 a 170% boost on it's normal Wednesday night 9pm audience share as 4.5m viewers (19.6%) tuned in to watch 14 housemates enter the Big Brother 11 house. Another 463,000 (2.9%) watched on C4+1, but this was down on the BB10 launch (4.8m / 293,000) - although the audience share of 22.5% was about the same year on year.

Davina McCall went on to present Big Brother's Big Mouth on E4 at 22:35, with almost half a million viewers staying up for the initial discussion about the new housemates. The viewing figures were 461,000 (3.7%) and provided a good base for the final series of the popular reality programme.

CBB7: Celebrity Big Brother Final Viewing Figures

The final of Celebrity Big Brother proved a hit with viewers as 4 million tuned in as Alex Reid was announced the winner of the final series. The final gained 500,000 on last year where Ulrika Johnson won CBB6.

Earlier in the evening 3.61m (14.2%) watched as Stephanie, Jonas and Vinnie were evicted, another 191,000 tuned in on C4+1. The 10pm final between Dane and Alex kept 4.04m (19.8%) watching, with a further 272,000 an hour later on C4+1. The programme peaked with 4.2m (22%) between 22:15 and 22:45 on Channel 4, meanwhile Big Brother's Big Mouth on E4 drew healthy 785,000 at 23:05.

CBB7: Day 26 Viewing Figures

Davina McCall entering the Celebrity Big Brother house helped boost viewing figures on Day 26. The highlights programme at 9pm on Channel 4 held 3.24m (13%) viewers captive as Davina's time in the Big Brother house provided hilarious entertainment. A further 416,000 tuned in at 10pm on Channel 4+1.

Thursday night's penultimate show of the series matched the Double Eviction viewing figures on Wednesday as the viewing public continue to show loyal support during this final series of Celebrity Big Brother.

CBB7: Double Eviction Viewing Figures

Day 26: Davina McCall entering the Big Brother house during the Double Eviction proved to be a ratings winner as viewers continued tuning in for the final series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Ivana Trump became the sixth housemate to be evicted in the 9pm programme, with 3.3 million viewers and a 13% audience share, while another 327,000 watched on Channel 4+1. The seventh eviction came with a twist as Nicola T was called to the Diary Room and told to leave the Big Brother house, then Davina McCall entered the house in Nicola's costume. An impressive 2.6 million viewers (19% share) stayed up after 11pm with another 113,000 viewers on C4+1 an hour later.

CBB7: Day 24 Viewing Figures

Celebrity Big Brother continued with good TV ratings last night as Ivana won a fake award, gave an acceptance speech and saw her new award smashed by Stephanie in a Task.

Almost 3 million tuned in (2.95m and 11.9% audience share) to watch Alex get a fake tan spray from Jonas and Nicola. The 9pm programme was Channel 4's second most watched programme of the day - the return of Shameless at 10pm was seen by almost 3.5m.

CBB7: Day 23 Viewing Figures

Big Brother shows no sign of losing viewers in the final week as 2.6 million viewers and a 10% share tuned in at 9pm. Celebrity Big Brother attracted another 534,000 on Channel 4 +1, as the latest highlights showed Dane and Jonas enjoying a lads night in without the other housemates knowing. Housemates also had to endure being chained up together.
