Margaret Denise Quigley - Maggie Q

If you like a girl who can kick-ass but loves animals, is a famous celebrity yet doesn’t play the ditzy blond, and oh yeah, is part Vietnamese too… then you’ll probably like Maggie Q.
Born (May 22, 1979) and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii by a Vietnamese mother and an American father of Irish and Polish descent, began her professional career modelling in Tokyo at age 17. Although she did not realize immediate success, she later moved to Taiwan and then to Hong Kong where she would meet Jackie Chan. Seeing star potential in Maggie, Jack Chan started to train her in martial arts. Maggie would go on to do her own stunts in later film work.
Maggie started her acting career in 1998′s TV drama House of the Dragon which became popular throughout Asia. Her film debut was in 2000′s horror movie Model from Hell. After appearing in Gen-Y Cops the same year, Maggie would be cast by Jackie Chan in Manhattan Midnight (2001) and Rush Hour 2 (2001).
But Maggie is perhaps better known for her later work on films such as Mission: Impossible III (2006) with Tom Cruise and Live Free or Die Hard (2007) with Bruce Willis. In 2010 Maggie was cast as the lead character, an assassin, on the TV series Nikita.
While she isn’t kicking-ass Maggie Q. loves animals. Privately, she lives in Los Angeles, California with her seven rescued dogs. Publicly, she is a spokeswoman for PETA (an International animal right’s advocay group), and has appeared nude more than once for animal rights. Maggie was PETA Asia-Pacific’s 2008 “Person of the Year”. By the way, Maggie has a tattoo of a phoenix on her hip. But a phoenix is not a real animal…
Maggie Q. is 5’6″ (168cm) and weighs 103lbs (47kg), with measurements: 34 – 24 – 34in (86.5 – 61 – 86.5cm).
She can speak English and Chinese, but not Vietnamese (or maybe just little?), although she says her favourite food is Vietnamese food.
